Cursurile online preuniversitare de medicina sunt dedicate tinerilor ambitiosi, cu un nivel bun de limba Engleza (min. B2), care isi doresc sa urmeze o cariera in Medicina.

Alegerea acestei cariere este o decizie importanta, ce va influenta urmatorii 4 pana la 12 ani de studiu, astfel aceste cursuri vin in ajutorul tinerilor.

Pre-College Exploration Medicine & Healthcare Track se desfasoara 100% online, in limba engleza, in grupe internationale de max 35 participanti. Cursurile dureaza 4 zile, cate 3 ore/ zi, se desfasoara in 2 weekend-uri consecutive, iar pentru optiunea Medicine & Healthcare, fiecare zi va avea o tematica si un instructior diferit:

Day 1 - Emergency Medicine

Learn about emergency medicine on the frontlines of the pandemic through simulations and discussions.

Tutor: Dr. Craig Kutz, UC San Diego
Dr. Craig Kutz is a physician-scientist, currently working as a senior resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UC-San Diego Health. Dr. Kutz holds an MD and PhD from the Medical University of South Carolina with his graduate work focused in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. He also is a current Fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and completing technical rescue training in austere/mountain medicine including a medical expedition to Mt. Everest Base Camp. He also currently works as an operational flight physician for a San Diego helicopter EMS. In his future, he plans on sub-specialty in Undersea/Hyperbaric medicine and Aerospace medicine. He has received multiple teaching recognitions including the distinguished resident physician bedside teaching award for medical students. 

Day 2 - Genetics

Learn about life as a geneticist and work on a project related to genetic testing for viruses and infectious diseases .

Tutors: Summer Morrill & John Replogle, MIT
Summer Morrill and John Replogle are Ph.D. candidates in biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is an accomplished researcher with diverse laboratory experience. Her research at MIT includes studying the effect of gene dosage on genome maintenance as well as uncovering the origin and maintenance of haploinsufficiency in eukaryotic organisms. Summer graduated from Tufts University summa cum laude with highest thesis honors.

Day 3 - Psychology

Learn about the psychology behind human connection and social relationships.

Tutor: Adam Morris, Harvard University
Adam Morris is a Ph.D. candidate and instructor in psychology at Harvard University. He received his B.S. in psychology from Brown University, where he graduated magna cum laude with honors. Adam specializes in social-emotional learning. Most of us spend decades of our life in school, and yet we are never taught the most meaningful thing: how to be with other people, in a healthy and fulfilling way. Adam seeks to understand the social-emotional skills that support a deep and nourishing social life, and to help people develop those skills. Adam has received numerous awards for his research and teaching, including the prestigious National Defense Science and Engineering Fellowship and the George W. Goethals Teaching Prize.

Day 4 - Neuroscience

Explore the relationship between the mind, brain, and body and study the physiological basis for mental disorders such as schizophrenia.

Tutor: Dr. Jessica André, Yale University Postdoctoral Researcher
Jessica André is a professor at Quinnipiac University in nearby Hamden, CT in the Psychology department. Before joining the faculty, she was a postdoctoral associate in Yale's molecular psychiatry program. Jessica's graduate and postdoctoral work focused on obtaining a better understanding of learning and memory related symptoms of neuropsychiatric diseases through animal models. Jessica spends her free time walking and playing with her dog Chance, of which pictures are often seen as they are the wallpaper background on her laptop. She holds a Ph.D. from Temple University.  

Acest program este destinat tinerilor cu varsta minima de 14 ani, cu un nivel de limba engleza minim echivalent IELTS 5.0+ (B2).

Se va forma o grupa internationala de aprox 35 elevi.

Cursurile se vor desfasura in zilele de sambata si duminica, incepand cu ora 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET (ora 19:00 ora Romaniei)

La finalul cursului participantii vor primi un certificat de participare.
